Purchasing: SeaProfs, your primary responsibility is to manage the procurement process for goods and services needed by your company or organization within a port of call of your ship. Here are the key tasks and responsibilities associated with this role: Sourcing Suppliers, Vendor Negotiation, Order Processing, Supplier Relationship Management, Quality Control, Cost Management, Compliance and Documentation
Compliance and Regulatory Matters: With Local SeaProfs,staying informed about local regulations and compliance requirements related to shipping and maritime. Ensuring that the company's operations adhere to all relevant laws and regulations, including those concerning safety, environmental protection, and customs.
Networking and Relationship Building: Establishing and maintaining connections with key stakeholders in the local shipping industry, including government agencies, port authorities, customs officials, and other shipping-related businesses. Building a strong network of contacts can help facilitate business partnerships, resolve issues, and stay informed about industry developments.
Problem-Solving and Conflict Resolution: Addressing any challenges or disputes that arise in the course of ship operations, such as delays, damaged goods, or local problems. Working collaboratively with internal teams and external partners to find solutions and ensure customer satisfaction.
